Nutritional & Practically TastelessPersonally, me and my kids are not fans of kale... but I was gifted a hearty quantity. I quickly dehydrated them and turned them into a powder that I use in everything as a topper to roasted veggies, adding to soups & pasta, and even adding it to brownie mix!
Kale is know for being a superfood but did you know that one serving has almost 700% dv vitamin K, 200% dv vitamin A and over 100%dv vitamin c. It is also high in omega-3 fatty acids, calcium, and many minerals. Don't over do it! to much of anything is never good, for some it can cause complications such as kidney stones. Moderation, moderation, moderation! I use it almost every day but, ln small amounts. Why Dehydrate? | Storage This is simple, it save money, space and time! After it is nice and crisp, I grind the leaves into a powder and put it inside a mason jar. If you know me, jar storage is my favorite method.. Basically, if it fits... I will probably put it in a jar! If you give this powder a try, leave a comment below. Strawberries | Plain yogurt | Coco powder | Maple syrup | Chocolate chips | Chocolate Granola I always change things up and almost never measure, who really has time for that? I already had everything I needed on hand already. Strawberries | Plain Greek yogurt | Coco powder | Flax seed | Maple syrup | Coconut | Peanut butter granola Basically, mix everything together and spread it in a pan, top with whatever you want and toss in the freezer. Take it out the next day or whenever you like, honestly it is good to just eat before freezing... After freezing take it out and chop, break or whatever you like. I had made my thick so I just took it over the edge of the counter to break it into chucks. Could also make a good freezer pop recipe. Brownie points if you remember to line your pan!
